Sun Shining on Water. Shonto.

Shontocanyon

We are the bright light reflecting off the water

We are the sun shining on the water

We are the water flowing through the canyons

We are the roads that get you home

*

We are the canyon rims that create unheard echoes

We are the canyon rims that create echoes heard

We are the canyon walls that protected our ancestors from Custer

We are the canyons walls that ache for you to come home

**

We are the canyons where animals only dwell

We are the canyons where our wells have dried

We are the canyons that have heard you cry

We are the canyons where homes have been crumbled

We are the canyons where we have seen many stumble

***

Stumble into something

Stumble into everything

Stumble into heartache

Stumble into Mistakes

Stumble into dreams

Stumble in schemes

Stumbles into love

Stumble into hate

Stumble in fear

Stumble into truth

Stumble into lies

Stumble into cries

****

We are the ones that have seen you.
